The geo-climatic conditions, along with the higher poverty incidence of India, have made this country quite vulnerable to natural disasters. Disasters have been seen to strike the country more often than usual, resulting in economic and human losses. With such large-scale disasters like earthquakes in J&K, Gujarat, Tsunami in South India, and more, there have been some smaller disasters as well, which are seriously impacting the current population.

The current Covid pandemic is making lives a lot harder for the labor class and poor residents of the slums. They fail to work on a daily basis, and losing wages is becoming pretty common in their lives. With inadequate state provisions for food distributions, many families are sleeping hungry. That’s when we at Dream Charitable Foundation come to the rescue.

We have worked with a trained teamed of in-house cooks, who are following all the standard operations to maintain quality and hygiene, while preparing food for the needful. Right from the time COVID too place, we did our best to launch cooked food, dry ration, and mask and hand sanitizer distribution in slum areas.

Right before the lockdown, we distributed dry ration in most parts of the country to help out the people living in slums and earning through daily wages.

During the second phase, we started preparing food within our premises and getting those packed hygienically before distributing to the needful people. Currently, we are working hard with the authorities to meet all ends. We have a team, identifying localities with hungry people and distributing food in those areas.

Not just food, but we have a team working on medical grounds too. So, if any poor people or needful is in need of basic medicinal help, we have them covered. We will take proper measures before visiting those areas to distribute food, masks and gloves, and even medicine.

The role of Dream Charitable Foundationis to cover various stages of disaster management, including response, reconstruction, rehabilitation, relief, mitigation, and preparedness. Some of the recent trends when it comes to natural disaster management have further highlighted our role as a vital stakeholder in relief.

Dream Charitable Foundation is playing significant role and developing skills and capacity for disaster preparedness. When it comes to the state level, we have already done our parts and took part in coordinated action covering disaster preparedness, much like COVID pandemic.

To ensure that we are always ready for any kind of disaster, we often have our packages and members ready beforehand. We even encourage others to donate their old clothes and other necessities to our center, so that we can move that towards the needful people with ease. Our services are always open for the underprivileged people, without any form of discrimination.

Thanks to our strategic planning and procedure, we are able to protect critical infrastructure, also known as critical assets, from some of the severe damages, whenever human-made or natural calamities take place. Whether it has to do with geophysical, hydrological, climatological or meteorological, we have our plans ready to get into action, whenever the time comes.

The primary aim of our disaster management program is to avoid or reduce potential losses from multiple hazards. We assure appropriate and prompt assistance to every victim of any disaster, no matter how critical it might be. Our main goal is to help achieve an effective and rapid recovery. It is highly crucial that hospitals remain functional and safe, mainly during and after disasters. We ensure that the needful gets their medical help whenever the time comes, so help them maintain a healthy and perfect body.

Dream Charitable Foundation helps in crafting capacities of the community at the state and district level for covering multiple tasks in various thematic zones. Such actions will result in proper integration of the same within not just disaster management but in other departmental plans. We further facilitate planning preparation by adding local communities to the plan and finalizing it as well.
